MISS CALIFORNIA DRESS (UNPUBLISHED)
In 2024, the designer had the opportunity to design an evening look for Miss California 2024, Kimberly Vernon, to be worn during the Miss America Beauty Pageant.
While eventually the contestant did not select the garment, it was an exciting opportunity to create a complex piece.
The outfit, which is entirely made of silicone rubber, consists of two elements: a long-sleeved bodysuit and a skirt, both with intricate petal patterns.
GLITTERY PETALS, RUFFLES
The long-sleeved bodysuit includes glittery petals and ruffles on the front and on both sleeves. The skirt, similarly with bigger sized glittery petals include delicate ruffles on the front with smaller petals.
The pieces were created throughout a multi-stage pouring process and overall took 4 days to make with interruptions.
THE DESIGNER’S THOUGHTS ON WORKING WITH SILICONE RUBBER
The designer has been working with silicone rubber for more than a decade now and really enjoys to explore all the possibilities in this versatile material.
